Drill Rod Tracking Solution

K4 Integration Inc. was approached by a mining and tunneling contractor to propose a solution to help track various drill rods as they were dispatched to different projects around the world. The result was a TopVu® passive RFID solution that includes embedding tags into each drill rod so that they can be read with a handheld reader; the resulting data is then transferred  into the company’s database, which allows reports to be generated based on location of the rods, hours spent in production, as well as maintenance and refurbish history.  Knowing the location and state of the rods required for a certain project allows for increased savings in logistics and mobilizing time.
